Would that be the same Cloughie who has won 9 games on the trot and has taken a division 1 side to the semi finals of the FA cup, if it is then I would like to go back to those days.[/quote]

So you would prefer to be mid table in League 1 and in the semi final of the FA cup rather than 3rd in the Championship?

I remember NC's dismal cup record with us. Glad we have moved onwards and upwards!

Not sure who he was having a pop at in his post match interview.

Wow another Clough reminiscing thread. I'm surprised no one hasn't mentioned Jim Smith yet.

He's history, get over it. SmC deserves credit and support. He did build a cushion for you to sustain this mini blip.

Most of us but there are some who hark back to those exciting days when we for ever within 5 or 6 pts of the play offs! They cant handle the fact we have been top 6 for some months now and may actually finish in the playoffs!

But surely this would have happened under N Clough , or we'd have done even better, wouldn't we ??? Really?

Its not just the proportion of games won and league position that are much better with McClaren its the style of play and tactics. Some people just don't get this.

Just as occasionally the team will not perform to its strengths or indeed play very well but not win as at Reading yesterday.
