Even if they want to rename us to Bolton O'Wandererstobesure and play in Emerald Green?

The older brigade who have supported Bolton from the top division to the bottom of the fourth division and back again realise there is no divine right to be in the top division. There are clubs with much more potential than us to be top division clubs outside the division all thinking they should be there too.
Birmingham, Leeds, Forest and others all could potentially be big clubs but at the moment they are not, conversely Burnley, Hull and arguably Swansea shouldn't be and are. We punched above our weight for a while and it was awesome but to suggest that's where we belong is wrong. If we get the right backers and a decent infrastructure in place there is no reason we can't get back and sustain it if we look at the models of Swansea and Southampton and benefit from the other clubs being badly run and in some cases imploding.

Admittedly it's an over exageration, however the Hull owner tried to change the to Hull Tigers, the Cardiff owner changed from playing in blue to red. They've both relized the error of their ways after fans protests for a few seasons. It does highlight the dangers of foreign owners, owners who decide things for commercial reasons only.
Question for you Campo if new

It defies belief that people can think things like this.

Before Davies/Gartside we were pretty much where we are now, league-wise, but had a ramshackle, tinpot sh1t-tip of a stadium with a supermarket on one terrace and a club going nowhere.

Where would we be if Davies hadn't come in and sorted the cr@p out that the Warbies had left us with???

All Davies and Gartside have done is shown an inability to operate at the highest level consistently, and an inability to control the higher level of finances.

    Wrecked the club? Absolute garbage!!!!
