I'd rather we didn't! Even if that's what he was brought in for originally.

One thing that would improve Diame's play is a pair of wing mirrors. The number of times, just this season alone, that I have seen him receive the ball, dwell on it and then let an opposition player stroll up behind him and casually take the ball off him, takes the biscuit

    Interesting stat today.

Diame has completed the 3rd most tackles in the prem so far this season.

    I believe this.

This kind of dirty work isn't usually recognised - only the mistakes do. But it is hard, hard unglamorous work. As long as he doesn't get his roles over-extended, he can improve. Of course, when he fu'cks up, the oppo is right on top of our defenders but he is not as bad as people make out.

He's not got the same engine as Conte but when he's on it, he is everywhere.

No one else in the team can do this work. Hate seeing Shelvey in DM because he is always one high tackle away from a red. When Hayden plays there, it makes me want to find a bridge to jump off of.

I said at the end of last season we needed to replace Diame, Yedlin and perez in the 1st team. Yedlin has improved a little this season. But we are weak down the middle of the team. It still needs addressing.

They are both capable of decent performances (as shown in last season's run in) but neither are consistent enough for the level we hope to be.

Er, yeah. But back in the real world, if Fat Pig isn't buying a sorely needed striker, he's not replacing Diame in a hurry, is he?
