On this site when Yates played in a pre-season friendly think when Evans was manager I said he looked a player but I don't know anything! Johno I'm a fan but in the championship? Smith I prefer now.

JCH was and still is a very talented footballer and I absolutely loved him when he was with us. However, talent in the professional game only gets you so far and even I could see that he was a bit of an idle barsteward with us, and he was moved on.
He did ok at Coventry, but they also recognized his failings and also rejected him and he signed for Bristol Rovers where he became a star. I would like to think that both us and Coventry made him realise what he needed to do and I'm absolutely delighted to see him among the goals and playing well because he is most definitely a talent so good luck to the lad UTM

I get this feeling that JCH didn’t fit in as a person, not as a footballer

Peterborough have a policy of transfer listing players in the final year of their contracts...there will be winners and losers in that policy but it’s an interesting one..

I will say this if jch and llkewise yates if they had just left and ended up flittering about in league two level etc..I doubt we would seen posts about them every other week...

And a big fee tag on his head for that age too....never quite fathomed if he was a kick up arse or an arm round shoulder player...
