I remember the days in old County Road stand that we were singing it as well .... obviously with Meadow Lane being the subject. Seems we have moved on.

These are the words to the Forest version of the song:

    "City Ground
Oh mist rolling in from the Trent
My desire is always to be here
    Oh City Ground

Far have I travelled and much have I seen
Goodison, Anfield are places I've been
Main Road, Old Trafford still echo to the sound
Of the boys in the red from the City Ground"

Not as compact nor original as the "Wheelbarrow" song.

Speaking of chants, what tune is "The referee's a w*****" and "You dirty Southern B*******" based on?

    Meadow Lane
Oh mist rolling in from the canal
My desire is always to be there
    Oh Meadow Lane

Far have I travelled and much have I seen
I've been to Millwall and that ain't very green
Surrounded by F-Troop and the Half-Way Line
But we didn't run because we're the Main Stand

Rather let down by the last two lines. Bearing in mind a local pre-season friendly, how about:

    Meadow Lane
Oh mist rolling in from the canal
My desire is always to be there
    Oh Meadow Lane

Far have I travelled and much have I seen
I've been to Millwall and that ain't very green
The thing I remember from all of those games
Is the way the reds ran from our zimmer frames

I watched the game, Liverpool were toothless upfront without Salah, Mane and Origi they also missed the two attacking full backs. Mind you Forest could have won it near the end when Zinckernagel missed that sitter.

I watched all the game must admit enjoyed it...After all the positive hype my Forest mates have giving me these last few weeks I openly admitted to them I hoped Forest would win and this would be the dawning of a new era for them (mind I had my fingers crossed behind my back at the time) After all the Effing and Jeffing at the TV every time Liverpool missed a chance I was relieved when they finally scored...

Question, Does this make me a bad person, Mrs W who's Italian and a Catholic says I'm wicked and should confess my sins...
