Don't know why but they seem to be publishing the stats late these days. Hardest word 'last week' which was actually on 1/11 was PINEY with a 4.3 average (4.57 on MM) and as CT had guessed the easiest word was STALE with a 3.18 average (3.5 on MM). Looks like we're in a slump on here compared to the rest of the WORDLE world.
Well I'm in a slump 5 today

I think it would be easy enough for each of us to maintain our own score card each day for the 18 days showing:
Hole number (ie date)
Hole score (number of guesses)
Par score (0, +1, -1 etc)
Par score so far (ie sum of all the scores for this 18 hole round)
I’d suggest:
4 guesses is par = 0
3 guesses is 1 under par = -1
2 guesses is 2 under par = -2
1 guess is 3 under par = -3
5 guesses 1 over par = +1
6 guesses 2 over par = +2
Over 6 guesses 3 over par +3
(Howdy suggested par at 5 guesses which might work out well but let’s try at 4 first if only because 18 x 4 = 72 and it seems more like golf!)
If we each keep our own scores I can publish a “Leaderboard” every few days to see our rankings. I’ll then show a final Leaderboard after 18 days (holes). The person with the lowest accumulated score is the winner.
I did it in 3 guesses today (Friday) So suggest this format:
Hole 1 (Nov 11): 3
Par score: -1
Par score so far: -1
(For the avoidance of doubt, if tomorrow I guess it in 5, my Par score for that hole will be +1 and my Par score so far will be Par ie 0 being the sum of -1 and +1)
Let me know if you’re in. If we have three or more it’s worth a try. Let’s start in a couple of days so you can raise doubts and suggest possible improvements.
