    Now confirmed.

We are happy to confirm the signing of Kyran Lofthouse on a three-year deal, with a further option in the Club’s favour.

The 22-year-old defender joins the Reds after most recently representing Woking in the National League, making 103 appearances for the Cards across a two-year spell.

Born in Oxford, Lofthouse began his career with hometown club Oxford United, before moving to Oxford City on loan.

A second loan move whilst with the U’s found our new recruit at Woking, where he went on to sign permanently in 2021.

Chief Executive Officer of Barnsley FC, Khaled El-Ahmad, commented on the acquisition: “We are happy to welcome Kyran to Oakwell and are pleased that he has chosen Barnsley to take the next step in his career.

A rumour that Genius James (no one knows how he does it) has re-opened the Austria File and could make our summer marquee signing to replace Andersen.

Felix Strauss is the name, a 22 year old Austrian Centre Back from SC Rheindorf Altach of the Austrian Bundesliga. Altach finished 11th of 12 in the 2022/23 Season but avoided relegation as only one goes down. A familiar name,-Mike Steven Bahre, plays for them. Strauss has just entered the final year of his three year contract with Altach.

Twitter is buzzing apparently about the chances of Ahmad, working 24/7, getting this one over the line. Let's hope Collins can get a tune out of Strauss.

    Durand From Gevigney to Barnsley

Sacko has arrived, Maël Durand from Gevigney has left the club, even if his transfer has not yet been formalized. The central defender, who was linked until June 2024, will continue his career across the Channel, as announced for several days, in League One (English Division 3), most certainly at Barnsley. Arrived last summer from Versailles, Durand de Gevigney will have made 31 appearances in Ligue 2 with the Crocos (29 as a holder) and 3 in the Coupe de France. He is the eigh****th player from the 2022-2023 season squad to leave.

Il signera son contrat dans les prochaines heures !

    Info just sent to me:

Maël De Gevigney is having his medical visit today with the Barnsley club in England.

He will sign his contract in the next few hours!

Nîmes Olympique should receive around 300K for the
sale of Maël De Gevigney to Barnsley

De Givigney is 24 in September so may be the Andersen replacement at CB.

His club Nimes Olympic finished 19th out of 20 in Lg2 last season 2022/23 and were relegated to the Third tier in France.

In a clear out of epic proportions 18 players have left Nimes, including De Giviney. Not sure if that means if he is a free agent or not. If there is an undisclosed fee of £300K involved this indeed is our marquee signing

Maybe Ahmad couldn't get a tune out of Felix Strauss and De Givigney is next in line. Plenty of fine French dining to be had in Tarn. The cafe culture with the outside tables in Peel Square old town should appeal on a warm evening.

You ask the question " how does he do it " , well I dont know either but joking apart we have signed some decent centre backs in recent times & this lad has played just under 100 games so has experience ,so lets hope he turns out to be as good as Anderson although we had to be patient with Mads & by the same token lets hope the faithful give this lad the same tolerance .

Agree Shads. Settling into a foreign country is never easy. Mads took time as you correctly alluded to but he came in for some stick in that first season if I remember correctly. Hope it doesn't happen to this lad. I also hope he's better than our last French import at center aif, a certain Jean Eves Mvoto
