I do not pine for an unelected EU. I have, on many an occasion on here said that we should at least go back to 1991, before the Maastricht agreement which created the EU in its current form. I am 100% against even the idea of a US of E. I voted NO on the 5th of June 1975. I did not vote last June as I am no longer allowed a vote and haven't been since 1999 as I moved to the Netherlands in 1984. However, you can take the man out of Britain but you can't take Britain out of the man.

Overturn a democratic decision? No. There should not be a 2nd referendum on the in/out question. However, once Mayhem has "negotiated" the Brexit deal, I do think that the UK populace should have the chance to say that they either accept the TERMS of the Brexit deal or that they want Mayhem to go back and further negotiate.

My answer to question 1 above relates to the following: If there is proven cheating, financial irregularities etc that go against the terms of the Electoral Commission as laid down in UK Law IN ANY ELECTION OR REFERENDUM then that vote should be retaken in the interests of democracy.

Me personally? Born into a working class family, I was a Shop Steward, always had to work for a living, now a retiree and still consider myself working class having had 4 different lines of work (An 18 month stint in accountancy, a 30 year stint in IT, 10 years as a teacher and 2 years as an IT recruiter).

Hopefully this information will help you understand my posts better should you pop back every now and then.

Of course...a result is a result...1-0 is ultimately much the same as 6-0 but in the case of the Referendum where the margin of victory was so slight, is it not likely that any ‘cheating’ and breach of electoral rules might have made all the difference?

Conversely, with the Ashes...the result was so overwhelming that the sugar, sandpaper, sticky tape and dust may have made no difference at all...assuming that it happened. There again, should sports teams ever be allowed to benefit from organised cheating? By Olympic standards...if proven...the Aussies would certainly be stripped of the Ashes which is not quite the same as saying England ‘won’ them...rather they should be declared void till next time perhaps.

P.S. MA...bet that’s the first time you’ve ever been accused of ‘pining for the EU’...hysterical!

‘Pining for the fjords...what kind of talk is that?’ Indeed...from a time when John Cleese was arguably the funniest man on TV. Not so now as ‘Hold the Sunset’ has recently proved. Sadly, despite the expectation, just been a case of how the mighty (Cleese and Alison Steadman) have fallen imo.

Must be going soft...actually felt sorry for Steve Smith this morning...broken man.
Don’t feel the same about Warner though...always seemed to be a nasty little man.

I understand you better now, you're about as boring as that post being a teacher and in IT.

Well done on back tracking on your original comment when you said "yes" on page one in black and... orange.

What a truly stupid comment. Why be offensive to someone who has actually thought about the issue?
’Amster has consistently been critical of what the EU has become but how does that mean he can’t recognise that if electoral rules have been broken then the result might be considered void?

    Christ...and they let you vote?

Thanks for the backing rA. Greatly appreciated. Meatloaf put it perfectly when he sang "You took the words right out of my mouth" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wO8toxinoc

His comments seem to back up the stats that put Nottingham schools at the bottom of the League......

I was educated in Rushcliffe Notts, an area that is voted in the top 10 places to live in the UK each year actually.

However I agree your profession has let down the boys and girls in deprived cities. Middle class champagne socialists whom pretend to be working class whilst poking fun with their snobbery at the generation they're supposed to inspire.
