Apologies, it was a bad choice of words on my part. I should have said pessimism rather than depression

Don’t worry about that. I wasn’t even bothered about that part.

I’m just baffled by the forgiving nature of most on this board.

Most are turning a blind eye to Tonali’s disregard for the club, all in the hope that he will be a good player for us one day! Never mind that he is costing us big time right now in terms of points, league position, money and FFP.

But he’s got a smile on his face in training so that’s all fine?

I couldn’t even care less if he has a genuine addiction, why does he have the right to impose that crap onto Newcastle United?

For the first time ever, we have a player I will never support.

What’s done is done. Which course of action is best going forward for NUFC?

I honestly don't think it's that though, Bruno.

I think most are looking at it as a young lad with a problem who's made a massive mistake. In situations like this, you can either turn your back on them-which will, at best, help nobody, and quite probably make things worse...or you can take the opportunity to decide to help the person through their troubles.

I'm not pretending that the club are doing this as a purely altruistic exercise, they're obviously also protecting their investment.

But, I'm actually proud of how the club have acted over this. Too many businesses in this type of scenario would have washed their hands of him and we've chosen to support him. I think they deserve a lot of credit.

It was somewhat of a long shot to be fair
