    As for Fraser Nelson he is hardly a pariah of the tory party

    "Nelson is an economic libertarian and a supporter of the Conservative Party and traditional conservative policies.     Fraser Nelson is a knob.

    I doubt Salmond ever thought he could win the vote and the last couple of weeks have seen him do no more than shore up his existing support by trotting out the " English toffs bullying us line "

    He will stand down as the SNP leader on September 19 and try and get his snout in the Euro trough.

    That was his plan back in 2002 when he quit, a fact that seems to have been conveniently forgotten.

    The polls are a convenient way for Scots to 'get it right up 'em'.

    A vote, which we cannot go back on, is an entirely different matter.
