Not good enough for the worst team in the football league but good enough for division 1?
    Says it all really.

I liked Curtis. Did as it said on the tin. Unfortunately many on here have delusions of grandeur and feel that he should have been replaced with someone like Marcus Alonso. A bad case of Champagne tastes and lemonade pockets.

Curtis always had plenty of energy and heart and to be fair was becoming a bit of a utility player in that he could drop into RB when needed but he was definitely best playing CM. However, he was still developing as a player with us, he had his limitations and you get the feeling he wasn't really getting the training or opportunities here to allow him to fully realise his potential.

He is now a few years older, his footballing abilities will have developed further both mentally and physically and it seems Wycombe are the club now benefiting from that. Fair play to both club and player.

I do sometimes wonder where our delusions of grandeur come from.

We had a player who we let go, ‘one of our own’ as people like to say now, who got a chance at another club and is playing consistently at a higher level while we wallow at the bottom of the league and some on here say we made the right decision and he wasn’t good enough. Strewth

Luckily we replaced him with some real winners...

Good post. All the dysfunction at the club didn't help, nor did picking him at right-back (he was terrible there).
He had a number of chances at CM but didn't really take them. Obviously he's developed now as you say and it's good to see him doing well in L1

If I swap the brussel sprouts on your roast dinner with dog sh*t it doesn't make the sprouts amazing, they're just better than the dog sh*t. The idea when letting Curtis leave was to replace him with someone better, it's not our fault Nolan did a p*ss poor job of it.

Correct 1961 Spot on, what do we know mate I think its down to the Power Point Presentations according to one of the Boards resident experts. More spherical objects, its obviously nothing to do with the players we currently have and the recent batch we let go,

You, are the one who need, to keep up to date, Ardley currently is having to make due & mend with the garbage already installed in our Premiership designed Dressing Room which neither Nolan or Kewell could not educate to stop crosses getting into our box, so why until Ardley has received the opportunity to employ better than we currently have, be expected to change it at the Toss of a Coin.

It is of course a debatable topic, will any player worth his salt want to Tar his name with a Relegation on his C.V.

Regarding Curtis hindsight is a wonderful thing.

It's not really hindsight, he was our player of the season, obviously Ainsworth is a better judge of a player. We tend to let players go before getting a replacement. Curle let Hughes go even though he was still scoring, albeit from the bench, but never replaced him.
