O/T Alehouse shock

Going to Simon & Garfunkel tribute gig in Woolwich tonight. Just looked at bar prices - £7.50 for small can of quite average Camden Hells, and £11 for small glass of red.

**** that, getting pissed with missus beforehand and sneaking in 3 small bottles of wine between us @ £2 each.

I wouldn't pay that to see the REAL Simon and Garfunkel!

I rarely drink in bars and pubs in the San Francisco area. Just too expensive. I buy Sierra Nevada Pale Ale from Costco in a box of 24 x 12oz bottles for $28. That's 14.4 English pints which works out to just £1.52 a pint.

Yes CT, both are great. Not had a chance to finish your book yet, I like to binge read a book at a time but I couldn't resist sampling the first few chapters. Great stuff so far, as expected :-)
