O/T If you could turn the clock back 30 years what would you have done different?

NB. One thing I promised myself and that was to be financially stable enough to retire at 60 years of age and not working until my Government Pension retirement age, in my case 66. I achieved this 5 years ago aged 59.

I had the same plan Brin. Unfortunately a divorce after 25 years of marriage put paid to that, so to keep my standard of living meant me taking a mortgage of about 6 times more than I originally did, and at far more than I anticipated, effectively having to start again aged 51.
Threw myself back into my work, and was able to retire at 62, around 4 years ago now.

Other than having the foresight to buy a ****load of Apple shares, I wouldn’t change a thing.

Had a great ride and don’t have any regrets.

Only one thing - sought professional help as early as I could have afforded to. Helped me and those around me in ways I never imagined possible and I sometimes dread to think how I would have ended up had I not done so

Will forever be grateful to those whose skill, knowledge, patience and compassion have helped me face, endure and grow through some very dark times

Yes but I wouldn’t milk the benefits system.
I wouldn’t turn that country I was emigrating to into a third world one.
I wouldn’t make young girls feel uncomfortable.
I also wouldn’t run round the streets with a machete or want to change the law.
I wouldn’t support a terrorist organisation and constantly march round the streets claiming racism.
I think I would be welcome there because I would fund myself.
I would also enter legally.
