Calderwood’s a bit unlucky in that he gets much more criticism for doing the the exact same things as our current coach, but with a worse accent

Self promoting balloon? Maybe but he never met with the Huns about the managers job the same week we were losing to the Huns. Pretty self promoting imo.
Calderwood never finished 2nd because he never had the luxury of a piss easy league. Still had some great results against good scum teams with a poorer side. Both wildly hit & miss in the transfer market, both play incredibly dull football for the most part, both played their favourites regardless of form, both have some cup shockers on their record. There’s plenty of comparisons there but it’s the accent that really grinds the gears.

The UEFA cup run culminating in the Bayern games was the real highlight of his time here but nothing can ever forgive the Queen of the South or Queens Park cup defeats

Calderwood and McInnes along with Alex Smith have been our best managers since the glory years yet they strangely take more abuse than the other managers that were a hell of lot worse.
Apart from McGhee I never see Patterson,Aitken,Porterfield etc get much of a mention on here.

Del handles the media much better, JC was a 9/11 waiting to happen every time he got near a journo.
Del, though cautious, is never the route one default that JC was. He got this rep as some total football guru due to having coached in Holland but we used to play the direst, long ball p1sh under JC.
Sorry, but comparing JC to Del doesn't fly.
