You say that Rees-Mogg is at the extreme end of the Tory party and I would completely agree with you on social issues, in particular. Whilst my views are far from his on many things, however, I have always admired the way that he deals with the various Left mobs who turn up every now and then to hurl abuse at him or his children – he quietly debates. Labour on the other hand, has become a party that supplies the people who turn up to throw abuse at Rees-Mogg and his children and has become so intolerant of dissent that one its own MPs, needs police protection at the party conference. You should reflect on that when basking in your knowledge of your moral superiority.

I’m winding down to retirement and my income is not such that I would suffer much from the punitive personal taxation rates that Labour would introduce. I do fear the effect of Labour on the economy as a whole - poverty for the many, not the few

They wouldn't be on the bread line though like many...What they don't really appreciate is many folks don't have any extravagances at all... do they care about that? Not one jot or it would reflect in their posts on here. I wouldn't mind if they had a sense of shame. How they sleep at night is beyond me...

Yep, if the old trickle down argument had any evidence to support it, I would accept that their is some merit in in capitalism and monetary policies but as you say this never happens. This is something kerr never has an answer about just some sort of vague notion that if the rich make money we will all benefit from it. He gives no evidence to suggest that wealth created is actually distributed/shared out.

The problem is the word "greed". It means nothing to the likes of Kerr. He probably just applies it to a kid who has an extra helping of chips on their plate.He doesn't accept that some people's only motivation in life is £££££s whilst criticising those who are altruistically motivated.

There is clear evidence that Socialist economics deliver misery for all and Capitalism delivers better living standards for all. The Eastern Europeans who risked imprisonment, torture and death to end the grinding poverty that 40 years of Left wing economics delivered did so in order to have a chance at the lifestyle that those in the Capitalist West enjoyed. The many thousands of people who flee every day from the paradise that Socialists have created Venezuela should tell you something too.

There is altruism and then there is stupidity. It’s important not to confuse the two. Labour’s policies will result in the destruction of large numbers of jobs as companies simply decide that the UK is too expensive, regulated and unionised to be someone where they want to operate in. It's as simple as that. If that is your version of altruism, there is something badly wrong.
