As I said not taking sides. Fans never put a player on the physio table tho. (Although I'm sure there is an exception)

But, did Danny Swanson not also criticise the medical team after he left?
    Or did I imagine that?
I don't think he did, no.

I never suggested anything about you. If you know anything about physiotherapy, you will know that there are incredible complexities in each player's physical make up, conditioning and recovery. Fans, and indeed large umbers of people in the game, take a simplistic view of how this works. If they hear from a manager that a player should be back in x weeks but it takes y weeks, their assertion is there is a problem with the physio. Go onto most team's forums and you will hear similar gripes, from Brechin to Barcelona. Out of interest, if Fraser Fyvie returns ahead of schedule, as some are reporting, does that mean that the physio is now excellent? Strange people never remember the times when players return ahead of schedule or indeed on schedule.

So could a club like United ever sign a player then find that they forgot to do a routine test for say...... errmmm.... something like habitual coke in the blood system? Or is that just an old Dutch rumour I heard

    Just asking for a friend

Believe United can only afford a test for Pepsi in blood stream.

I've heard that rumour. I would point out that the physio would not be taking blood tests if that is what you're asking.

Fair comment. It reached me 300 miles away at the time. A lot of rumour is just that.

When judging recovery generally I suppose some fans forget that most clubs have a complete medical staff and then the other outsourced specialists, so several people involved in diagnosis and recovery planning. The physio (therapy) being only one part of that team.

Interesting comment about finances, reason being that a friend of mine worked at a club where all the HR was outsourced, as it is at most (he said none of the directors or staff at the club in question had up to date HR training or experience). The HR advice was not the best in several cases and the club ended up having to change companies after a few own goals. My point being that the quality of the outsourcing can and probably will impact on the success of any aspect of the business, whether that be PR, IT or maybe even medical.

See this talk of Fyvie coming back early, it's all well and good but I'll be pissed off if he makes the bench without even featuring first for the reserves. Just look at Keatings last season. We have the reserve league back so let's use it to build up match fitness gradually and get the players back good and ready. I've had enough of this kiddy on nature when they are back supposedly only to break down shortly afterwards.
