... does anyone recognise the 'syndrome' that seems to happen to some clubs who have just missed out on promotion/a cup final? It invariably takes time to recover the form that took them to that near success. In Notts case, the players had to maintain a level of fitness for play-offs and the Trophy semi final under strange (CV19) conditions; which most other clubs did not. That post reminds me of two syndromes - clutching at straws syndrome and head in the sand syndrome.
