Thread: Online betting

…. and now you are having a go at Orgs, would like to say unbelievable but it was fairly predictable.

Most of us are fairly tolerant and try to agreeably disagree. You sometimes make sensible rational posts and do so without denigrating anyone.

Other times you do the same but then argue with any poster who does not agree with you.

Then there is the just spout bollox and argue mode. In the last month you have argued and oft fallen out with pretty much every poster on here.

It’s a forum and I suspect people come on here to both keep up with all things Leeds and for light humour not to battle with the resident keyboard warrior who flounces off, occasionally wishes for the end of the world, will readily insult people and professes to know better on just about every topic.

We have more regulation and more legislation than ever before and it still often doesn’t work often less but better regulation is the way to go.

Generally in life being kind to others as a default Isn’t a bad way to go but I suspect you know very little about that or have become so bitter that it has become forgotten.

    Hey ho.

Yep. It's not disagreeing that's the problem. It's the being disagreeable about disagreeing that is.

I've made my opinions reasonably clear on betting (both online and otherwise): If done in an affordable way to enhance enjoyment of things like sporting events then the problems involved are probably kept at a manageable level and no obvious harm is done. Some people find that sensible balance much harder to achieve than others.

This is another genie that definitely isn't going back into its bottle anytime soon: I'm sure those ubiquitous black rectangles everyone checks every five minutes (myself included) are causing far more lasting problems (especially for the young 'uns).

I don't really "do" social media much beyond occasionally looking on here and exchanging direct messages with maybe half a dozen or so Twitter and WhatsApp friends, but I am well aware of the mental rabbit holes you could easily disappear down (on Twitter especially). Again, some are better equipped at showing discipline in this regard than others.

    It's a strange old world.

    Odds-on for certain.
