Any objections to this thread seem a bit weird given that the whole point seems to be to celebrate our flame-headed heroes.

has ginger now become a racist term? Based on the posts some seem offended. Never really thought of it as that. More like yank or canuck to me than a racist term.

If so, I guess I'll have to stop calling my wife one.

Back in the day, they were classed as not normal or weird. It's all because there we so few and far between. There is something with redheads the sun really affects them badly and they cant spend much time out in it.

Back in the day you could say the same about black kids or fat kids - both a rarity when I was a sprog!

After screaming at me for a bit she advised it did not bother her. I take turning red faced (more than normal) and screaming as a sign of affection. But then again if you had lived with me for almost 40 years you'd scream a lot! I love fiery women so it's no surprise that I was attracted to a ginger.

I noticed it by chance when looking at the evolution of the various BOXT arm sponsorship patches this season.
