Thread: January Transfer Window Talk

Bamford is probably at his level in the championship where he has had a couple of decent seasons but 10m for him is just crazy he has shown he can't make the step up to the Prem.

Strong enough to stay up? We'll be lucky. We've had all summer to take advantage of the excellent 7th place finish but haven't. We've just rested on our laurels and SD will have a tough job to keep us up. Mee looks like he wants to be elsewhere, Brady looks like he'll take quite a while to get fully fit and what has happened to Defour? Is he even training at the moment? Was he at Aberdeen giving moral support? Has he had another fall-out with Dyche (similar to post-Xmas 2016/17)? No news about his progress. Just a calf injury, wasn't it? That was on July 2 - 30 days ago.

Super player, but I think the reason we saw a top-form Defour last season was because he wanted to make sure he was in the Belgium World Cup squad. Without that incentive, I am not confident we will see a committed Defour this season even if he does regain fitness. Westwood would not get in any other PL side but looks like he will be a regular starter this season.

Unless we get the likes of Dawson & Rodriguez signed in the next week, we'll be lucky to match the 2014/15 total of 33 points. If it looks like we are going down at Christmas, would Dyche jump ship or stick it to the end of the season and accept another relegation on his CV?

I had better just jump off the cliff now then.

Liam Moore to Brighton deal has stalled and BHA have switched their sights to 6m rated Sheff Utd defender Jack O'Connell, maybe we should swoop in and get Moore, decent centre back who has been linked with us before.

Ashley has played 152 games in the EPL. Are you seriously suggesting he isn't good enough for the Premier League?

We now have about twenty players all bubbling under our first eleven. Never, ever underestimate a footballer who wants to make it big!

Westwood has started 18 matches in the PL for the Clarets and we have won 6 drawn 7 and lost 5 picking up 25 points in the process and that is an average of 1.39 points per game. In addition he has come on as sub in 10 PL matches so his record is not too bad at all fro someone who jut isn't good enough!

Defour was injured on July 12 at Cork with a minor calf strain. He retired from International football when he didn’t make the cut for the WC. Tom did his at Preston a few days later and won’t be back till 12/8. No return date for D4 on physioroom. His maybe worse.
Not seen anything to suggest there are other problems, so let’s not make them up.

No he wasn't was he, but as he only spent a total of 43 minutes plus injury time on the pitch for us over six games, that's hardly surprising is it ? Like I said, his goals per game rate is exactly the same as Woods, he puts the ball into the onion bag just as often as Wood. I'm not offering an opinion on who is the better player, just pointing out the facts.

His minutes were not in the Premier League sinkov. Keep up please?
