U-turn in the Steele signing..... The deal was agreed between the clubs and Steele travelled from the North-East to Derby to complete the formalities, only for Derby to decide at around 10.30pm that they no longer wanted the option included and were only prepared to take the 27-year-old until the end of the season.
That fundamentally changed the deal on offer, and meant the transfer was called off.
Rational decision made by Derby for changing their minds at the last minute when they got the deal signed and they have just gone and blown their chance on getting a back-up and are now taking a huge risk on relying on Carson, doesn’t get injured for the remaining of the season.
