Agree, we had foundations there set by Courts. Ross has come in and completely ripped up all that good work by changing formation to one which we dont have the players for even though we have signed 6/7 players. How do you sign so many players and not the most critical one (DM) to play 4 at the back. Hes absolutely lost, has no idea what to play and who to play, changes things to something else that doesnt work mid game.

He has done everything but build on last season. Last season we were better with a back 3, better with Freeman playing and better with Graham playing, this season we have none of that. Whats even more bizarre is Sibbald has been our best midfielder so far and the best signing of them all based on what we have seen yet hes the one thats dropped out.

Id get Ross out now, we will lose our next 2, and be both bottom of league and out of the cup. Thats a lot of pressure going in the the Motherwell away game. I think his job hinges on that result

What’s Davy Dodds up to nowadays? Worth a punt?

We only get a season of playing really good football once in a generation at best (outwith the 80s)

Ross just doesn't now seem the right fit for us, not good enough and not utilising what he has as good as his predecessor while not getting the players on board as they probably enjoyed working under said predecessor a lot more

Hopefully miracles happen and he can turn it around, hopefully soon or fan pressure will build like end of laszlo days very quickly
I will be honest if the future of United is serving up the football we had the last 2 seasons I seriously question what is the point of being a football fan if it is just all about squeezing out results. There has to be more to it and Tony Asghar pretty much acknowledged that. We wont win cups playing that way, we squeezed in to Europe playing it due to a lot of the competition also being poor then received out most humiliating humping in years. You are right in as much as Jack Ross doesn't seem the right fit to manage the dull football we have become accustomed to. We need to change our style of play. it will take time.

I've said on here before that I'm not too hung up on watching a more conservative style of football but do you think that Ross should totally change the way HE wants to play to keep the fans happy? Obviously his style of play isn't working just now and it might never work for him but for him to change the way he wants his players to play would surely go against his principals so I can't see it happening unless it's a wee tweak here or there. The players really DO have to have a look at themselves as most of the goals we have let in in the last 3 goals have been down to them and not the manager imo.

we dont have the players to play the way he wants to, so he would basically be willing to lose his job and ruin us to stick to his principles. I would rather we cut our losses than watch someone do that to us. He can not play 4 at the back until we sign a decent DM, thats now on TA.. he has to get him a DM before the window shuts or Ross will have to change we cant have neither or we go down

Surely when he acknowledged what a good job Courts done when he came in you would come in and not change too much initially, the tweaks you make have to work as well but feels like he has changed too much too soon, getting pumped 7-0 4-1 3-0 in a 10 day period is worrying before Celtic come calling

He saw us last season from dugout and as a pundit abs praised Courts and Utd near end of season on sportscene

It's like if he was any good he would manage to keep the fundamentals that were in place then add to it, he hasn't, he has ripped it up and is creating a mess, plus why are the players not on board with him? Yet a rookie had everyone onside, in house even during a lean spell last season

A team of kids with Carson in goal went to Ibrox and went toe to toe, losing to an 80th minute penalty, yet Ross hasn't given Meekison a look in who was performed well end of last season, surely he'd have offered more than were we got from McGrath yesterday and Graham more than we got from Mulgrew?

I'd take us being hard to watch and finish 4th every time ahead of whatever it is meant to be at the moment.

When a certain Sir Alex Ferguson's job was on a shortly peg did he abandon his principles and change Man United's style to save his job?.....and before you say it I know we are not Man United but you get my point though yeah? and I agree we 100% need a defensive midfielder to protect that back 4 but not a Butcher type as that type will break up play but then give the ball away,we need a Davie Bowman type.

I agree, Ross has to go with what he believes. However he really needs to find a way to play that with the players he has at his disposal. It's no use having a way to pay that results in is getting pumped every week. Keep that up and, for sure, he won't last.
