Watched the "extended" highlights (still only 10 minutes or so!), and.......

The first Leeds goal, what an assist from Firpo (and what a run to make it possible!). Maybe he is such a sh1te LB because he is really such a great left winger/wingback? there have been plenty of signs over recent weeks when he has made deft touches, intelligent runs, penetrating passes, bit like Rutter not being a striker, more a creator (the hitting to post today another example!)?

Not so sure about the penalty. Was no doubt about it being a pen, more about the way it was taken and where it ended up. All it would have taken was the gk to go the right way (yes, I know, the chap taking the pen needs to take all that into account) and it would have stayed 1 -1. 3 welcome points, lets see what we do against the Naarwich and Plymouth (twice!)

Firpo looked quite good at times defensively - wonder if it is all about confidence but he was very good going forward as you say.

As soon as Piroe was going to take the PK was more relaxed as he seems very confident and calm and seems to have about 6 or 7 ways to hit it.

Part of penalty taking is trying to send the keeper the wrong way. Knowing he’s observing your run up, a quick glance to the corner your not hitting it to helps.

Strachan was pretty good at taking pens and the mind games with the keeper

Watched the game back this morning , still wandering just how the feck they managed to finish the game with 11 men???

Worst referee ever , 100% shocker!

Proper dirty b@studs and moaning conts as well.

Well done the boys for beating the 12 men of Preston

We have had a few shockers - the ref away at Millwall seemed to think he was officiating an American Football game the way he allowed them to black and take out our attacking players.

One challenge on James should have been a red and don’t think he even gave a free kick.

Rough house tactics seemed to be becoming a thing so to win as we did against Preston and some of the player reactions on the pitch suggest we can deal with that now.

Just read an article apparently the total fouls (22+ 18) by Preston in the two games is the highest in the league for the last three years; it was definitely a tactic and worked at Deepdale, hopefully the Leeds players were move ready for it. A soft pen maybe but just rewards for Preston's attitude to the game.

After one foul by their no10? I commented to my PNE fan friend that I'd be after revenge for it and low and behold Mr Summerville had the same idea with a nice stomp on an ankle, yellow carded but revenge is sweet sometimes.
