Mark Ogren was very honest when he took over in saying he wants to profit from this venture...

Balancing the potential disastrous losses of getting relegated after selling best players should also come into the equation when thinking about whether to sell or not. Wish the Snake had thought about that.

So absolute best case scenario to keeping him is £1m. A sale will make us minimum 3 times that and possible add ons down the line.

Grim reality of playing in a skint league.

you're maybe forgetting that his value will increase if he is still banging in goals in the top league. if he's worth 3m now a few goals early in the top league will increase that to 4m. If i was ogren and ashgar i would try and make a case foir him to stay to do just that and promise him he can leave if he likes in the next january window then give Robbie 25% of the sale to strengthen the squad.

    How does that sound?

Yes, it's a bit of a gamble for Mark Ogren. We will need a few recruits for the premier league. Ogren can sell Shanks for £3M at the end of this season and give Robbie a large chunk to bring in these premier league quality/ready new recruits. But one of those needing replaced would be Shankland. Hmmn. Or he could take the gamble, keep Shanks for another year and invest a sum that will allow Robbie to strengthen the other areas of the team.
Not a hope in hells chance we'd get £6M for him with a years contract left. He'd be available on a pre-contract six months later for nothing. We either sell him in the summer/next January at the latest, or we extend his contract if we want to make serious money.
