Is that the logic though you can meet the same amount of people in doors for a christmas party for 24 hours and only 20% of them is going to catch the plague make it 48hrs and 40% will catch it 72 hrs and 60%.Really don't think that is how the virus works think 24 hrs is plenty of time for anyone with it to pass to anyone without it in same bubble.

You make it sound like a free for all on Christmas Day and there is that word 'party' again that you seem insistent on using that no one else is, least of all the SG. It is worth looking at the guidance again

"The safest way to celebrate Christmas this year is with your own household in your own home - and as far as possible, to keep any interaction with other households to a minimum. This is by far the safest way to spend this Christmas and keep your loved ones safe."

"You do not have to form a bubble if you do not want to – the safest way to spend Christmas is to stay in your own household, in your own home and your own local area."

If you decide to meet up

"minimise the number of people in a Christmas bubble"
"stay outside as much as possible"
    "minimise the distance you travel"

In other words its a compromise, one in which it is recommended you don't mix but if you do, because some people will anyway regardless of the rules, limit it and take sensible precautions. What is doesn't mean is you arrive at someone house midnight on the dot and stay for 24 hours and 'party' Its not Shaun Ryder laying down the guidelines.
its asking you to be grown up about it.

You can dress up wee nic's christmas spreader any way you want she has said 8 adults and as many kids can meet indoors without masks have alcohol and food and music give presents and hugs etc possibly have granny singing at the table and a wee dance you can call this a get together or a compromise or a party or what ever that is the rules.Alot of sensible people will not go the whole hog of the spreader madness they have been told they are permitted to do but some will and sadly that will spread this super spreader new variant far faster than an immediate lockdown would have.Don't care how deep into wee nic you are you must see this.

Yeah as I thought 8 adults from 3 or 4 households depending if one is an extended household and as many kids as you want can meet up in a wee flat to partake in a christmas compromise where they can eat drink listen to music dance sing exchange presents etc. You're right this can in no way be seen as a christmas party it's obviously far safer than a lockdown and can't see this costing any lifes wee nic is looking after us well don't know why I doubted her.
