The rest of the team pretty much just stood around admiring what the two of them could do and wishing they could get close to matching it (they couldn't).

Similar to what Snekie says, I think Hignett pitched up, quickly realised we were shyte with a team full of shyte players (bar Jess) and decided to get the f'uck out of dodge sharpish.

We did make a tidy profit though for once so not all bad.
Maybe he pitched up thinking he was going to be the best player in the team by a million miles and quickly realised Jess was better than him and disappeared off in a huff?

I'd take Dom Ball as a squad player, particularly with the high number of players we're going to have to take in. He does a decent job in midfield and has done ok covering RB this season. He's the level we need as a versatile back up to our first choice players. However if we're signing that kind of quality to start every week we're setting our sights too low.

A pretty decent source suggested we’ve offered James Wilson a permanent contract.

I'd assume we've offered Ball too.

However I think all 5 loanees will be announced as leaving on Monday or Tuesday
