[quote="Rockthecasbah" are taking over the asylum.

Don't think X-ray Specs were mentioned.
Poly Styrene singing Germfree Adolescents, takes me back.

Also "Oh Bondage Up Yours" was one of their better efforts.[/quote]Identity!

Whilst we are onto female punk bands... The Slits, loved Ari Ups voice, Sad she passed away.

A great dub band she sang with was New Age Steppers produced by the Great Adrian Sherwood (for anyone into ON U Sound)

On the subject of all female punk bands, check out Maid of Ace - an all-sister lineup from Hastings. They're making waves on the UK scene right now. - view external link

It would seem they've encountered ChiswickMart on their travels!

You should see them live, very energetic & tight. I can see them getting quite big in the next few years, they're being pushed by a good label run by a bloke in it for the 'right' reasons.

Cut is an excellent lp, great songs with superb production by Dennis Bovell, Ping-Pong Affair being the stand out track for me

Thanks Jack - would seem the singer has rather modelled her voice on Courtney Love.

If we're talking female punkish bands then surely this lot are streets ahead of your Maid of Ace. Strong resemblance to Siouxie & the Banshees admittedly. - view external link
