I thought that the penalty shout up the other end was a much better one. It all worked out in the end.

Which one? The one where Kane also dived?

I disagree, Sterling's cheating was way more clever, the ref saw right through old Harry.

There was slight double contatct on Sterling from two defenders, yes it was only slight but it was contact all the same, and I can obviously see why the pen was given.
I does annoy me though when alleged pens and more clearer looking pens are ignored for both teams in matches, thats the inconsistency from the officials.

Football's a contact sport. Every contact is not a foul.

Sterling took a dive, the rest is pretty much irrelevant.

I'd rather play with integrity and lose than win by cheating. Irrespective of whether we win this tournament or not, it's tainted for me. I'll look back on the teams of 1990 and 1996 with fondness but I'm not bothered about this team now. Maybe I'm ridiculously old school, but football's not just about winning.

Some of my favouritely remembered teams didn't actually win anything, but it's how they played the game I really admire.

    On twitter today...

The Japanese have just invented a camera with a shutter speed so fast it can capture an England footballer on his feet.

Really inconsiderate of them putting the final on a Sunday. With no relevant sport on a Saturday morning for the first time in however long I have zero excuse not to do yard work tomorrow morning.

    Arse biscuits.

So I can say arse and not ****?

As in England's promising young **** midfielder Jude Bellingham.

The censorship makes that worse, clearly.

Let’s not forget that the Italians invented diving.

I'm not sure. The home of diving is probably Brazil, or "Latin America" at least.

English players were actually mastering the art in the 60's and 70's. Francis Lee was an absolute master at it "Lee Won Pen". Martyn Peters admitted to diving throughout his career, including while playing for England.

The Italians in the same period were not known for diving, brutality and physical violence yes but not the old Fossbry Flop which was mastered by the English first (in Europe).

Yep, they invented diving into a tasty pasta meal with peppers and mushrooms and garlic and tomatoes. Luvvly jubbly.
