    Frank

As you know I have a pet cockatoo called Coco,he is treated like a king,he wants for nothing and yet he is still unhappy,he sometimes dances along to songs on the radio and will shout out various phrase's to get your attention but then sometimes at night, when he's decided to get into his cage and go to sleep I can hear him consoling himself,he murmers things like "Poor Coco" and quietly calls out his former owners name to himself, his previous owners must have spent a fantastic amount of time with him as his vocabulary is wonderful, cockatoos are usually limited to several sentences but Coco's far exceeds that, can you imagine how much he must have been loved for those first seven**** years of his life, can you imagine how he must wonder why his owners abandoned him (they passed away) and must long to go back to them and those happier times,he shows me love when he feels like it but I know that I'm not a patch on his former owners,he's sometimes genuinely sad and I can honesty feel his pain, life is **** sometimes Frank don't you think?

Feel free to say something nasty

Cockatoos can live till they are sixty or beyond Chalky , so you have plenty of time to make Coco happy..

Coco is fortunate to have found an owner like you. Change is inevitable. There has been a lot of research into animal psychology, and surprise surprise they are just like us. They feel grief too. Accept him for what he is and he will repay you. It will take time, parrots are like that. I had a budgie as a child, and had enormous amounts of fun with him, playing football on the carpet with a subbuteo football, him standing on my head, and generally acting like total idiots. In fact i have never been happier with an animal or human.
He trusted me totally. If you get Cocos trust, you will be able to do anything with him. There is a lot of tragedy in the world, but not for Coco. Its no coincidence you are together. Mick.
