    Is the takeover a distraction...

...to keep us from focusing on Rafa's contract expiry and the general footballing unambitiousness on behalf of our money-grabbing owner? Wouldn't be the first time.

    It wouldn't.

50/50 I still think this will come to nothing.

However, this feels like it has more legs than previous deals.

But would it surprise me if it got to the end of Rafa's contract and it wasn't sorted, nor where we sold - not one bit

All I can say is that if Ashley does kill this deal and rafa doesn't get the contract and control he deserves then the entire fan base has to unity in protest to remove the cancer from our club

    Agreed, Kal.

But, unless they're in cahoots, I think it was the Sheik's people who put it into the public domain so hopefully this time might be different.

Only if Bin Zayed are doing Ashley´s dirty work for him. Ashley has said nothing.

If fatso spends very little in this transfer window (gamble) he's set to make a sh!t load of cash this season. I don't think he has the same respect for Rafa (or any other manager) as we do.

The distractions have come about with regularity almost every single transfer window.

I'm living in hope that this one's the exception.
