Thread: The Loss of Normality

  1. #71
We are undeniably living under a Tory evolved Police State. Reports are coming in that in North Yorkshire our own British soldiers are being deployed to conduct ro*******s. In Cumbria the local “authorities” have issued a unilateral decree that the Lake District is “closed” for business. Under what guise can we possibly deny people access to one of our national treasures?

Further south, our Devon and Cornwall police force are asking the public to report “illegal gatherings”. That rules out the prospect of any sort of protests about the loss of our freedom of movement then.

In London it is reported that the Metropolitan police are challenging users of the London Underground to justify their journeys. Covid-19 has provided the “Perfect Storm” for this bloody Tory government to exert coercive control measures on our own population not seen since World War two.

I’m not sure when the resistance will come to this madness, but I expect it any time soon.

More evidence and power to your elbow BT, we do indeed live in a police state ---if only on this board ----the good people of the north east are doing as asked and not being pestered by the police unless they have stepped out of line --as one drunken woman decided to do the other day.

Good to see that no other countries are following our lead

Boris delayed lockdown as long as possible, for which he received much criticism, precisely because he knew the public would have a short toleration of being placed under house arrest. So you do have a point BT, and Boris agrees with you, but your idea that this is some sort of devious Tory plot is possibly evidence that this lockdown is having the stir crazy effect on people he suspected it might. Try not to worry, one day this will end and normality will resume, our armed forces can go back to sitting on brand new aircraft carriers without any aircraft, the police can go back to trawling Twitter for perceived hate crimes, and Alex Salmond can begin to wreak havoc on his tormentors in the SNP.

Certainly peaceful balam, just like our woods and beaches up here in the north east of England.
Anyway, it has been a good day today because I've finally got my slot with Sainsbury, I've ordered Turkey, stuffing, mince pies & Xmas crackers.
