Thread: Weggy spotted.

    Weggy spotted.

I can’t post the foto because I’m at the airport but the lesser crested Weggy was spotted down Gawthorpe this morning. Final goodbyes?

Hope not.I think he would have been useful for us in the PL.

Best striker at the club out on a season loan, crazy.

I get that he didn't want to play for us but what a waste

Why is it crazy that he's out on loan,if as you say, he didn't want to play for us?

Wout Weghorst 2 in 20 (Burnley)
    Wout Weghorst 0 in 17 (Man.Utd)
Lyle Foster 6 in 34 (Burnley)

In his two spells in the Bundesliga covering four and a half seasons he has made 145 appearances and scored 66 goals and has 22 assists, however, he is not good enough for Burnley according to many fans.
Oliver Glasner, now Palace manager, was his coach at Wolfsburg and said that "He’s the most dangerous player in front of goal that I’ve ever coached – at least as head coach.”

When we were relegated with us he was told by the Dutch manager that he had to be playing at the top level somewhere to have a chance of selection at the World Cup. Since then he has played 18 games for Netherlands and scored 7 goals.
Over the last three seasons he has appeared in a total of 141 matches so it would appear that fitness is not a problem.

Foster has scored 5 PL goals in 23 games and in the time that Weghorst has appeared in 141 games (last three seasons) sadly Lyle has only appeared in a total of 68 games which, for a young, upcoming athlete is not a good sign.

No doubting Weghorst impresses in the Bundesliga but I don't think he suits the Premierleague, he's an intelligent footballer but lacks pace & strength in my opinion.
Foster is younger with more potential to develop, quicker, stronger and more mobile for me.

Yes hopefully his mental health issues can be managed and he can progress with his career.
I know he didn't do much in the Championship last time but fingers crossed that after a season in the Prem under his belt, we see a player that grows in confidence next season 🤞UTC
