Hmmmm...
I have always tried to give referees the benefit of the doubt as they have a very hard job. It is difficult to keep emotions and subjective views out of the equation when looking at events involving one’s own team, but let’s do that. So, this season Motherwell have received five red cards. All of these have been flourished by Mr Thomson. This season Mr Thomson has shown a red card five times, all against Motherwell. No other referee has shown a Motherwell player a red card. Mr Thomson has not shown red cards against any other team. Statistically, it is hard to avoid the conclusion that Mr Thomson is biased against our team. Perhaps it is time for our CEO to have a polite discussion with the refereeing supervisor to ask why such a skewed series of decisions has been delivered by the one referee against the one football club.
Hmmmm...
Thomson is bizarre because when he started (I think 2006/7ish) he gave us a lot...lots of penalties in his early years and we had absolutely no cause for complaint with him - the reverse in fact. For a couple of years, however, every 50-50 he considers seems to have gone against us. That's probably not the case in reality of course but you remember the big ones and if he gets our semi-final with Aberdeen we can consider ourselves done before a ball is kicked.
Normally I'd say its odd, but probably not impossible, to dish out 5 red cards to us but its not just the number of red cards its the nature of them. Carson's card at Perth was debatable, Dunne's in the same match was blatantly wrong, as was Kipre's in the Hampden final and now this one today was downright wrong too.
The correct decision today would have been 2 yellow cards for a low key incident. Once again Thomson has got it all wrong and ruined a match invovling us. Given Stepehn Robinson's post match comments the SFA will probably award him our semi final tie against Aberdeen....just to prove a point.
No he doesn't have a bias, he's just a rank rotten referee who gets it wrong far more often than not.
Apart from the Kipre incident, we had a strong shout for a penalty when Curtis Main was wrestled to the ground in the latter stages?

Dive...no complaints about not getting it though it was in the 'seen them given' category.
It's official - we've submitted an appeal. Decision on Thursday.

Suspect that's 500 quid down the drain but hope I'm wrong.
