First day of a new season with everything in front of you .

The dream factor may have gone for many clubs but tha still gives it a go .

Summer of 96 and the five new arrivals and you know the rest , first game at WBA and I swear blind I'd never seen such a performance by a reds team as I saw that day , we were bloody fantastic , 2-1 but it was men against boys , chasing shadows were WBA .

Realistically a hard season ahead but I still cast my mind back to that day in the west midlands and think , you just never know .

Good luck to Hecky and his new team today and for the season ahead .
