We need someone in midfield that is not scared to put the foot in then come away with the ball! Someone that will allow Slater and Stanton to go and play the ball nearer the opposite box
Urgently required.
Let’s hope that’s not our lot for this window.

Paul Paton is out of contract in may.
Pay the cash and let’s get back up.
Was at Dunfermline today
Sorry but not for me he was ok when we had 4 players with pace/brains to pick out in front of him but even then he slowed things down way too much for me....plus he is slooow getting around the pitch.
Anyway i dont think he is helping the Fermers out much with his play at the moment going by where they are in the league...?
Our scouts (WHOEVER THEY ARE THESE DAYS??) plus Shabas contacts should be looking for a player in the mould of McGinn at Hibs...we need a player with plenty of energy, can eat up the ground, can harass the oppositions play makers, put the foot in when required and ping the odd decent pass to the forwards now and again....ohhh and not be injury prone!
sounds easy i know...
Did Paton not get a payoff and told to GTF?
Remember we wanted to build a team around Zwick, Spittal, Si Murray and Dillon, all of whom have left the club.
I liked PP at United but couldn't see him coming back, especially with baldy snake walloper still at the helm.
If we had money to buy I’m not sure I’d want to splash it on Paton though I thought he did ok for us previously. But we’ll not be buying, we’re in the bargain basement currently hoping the January sales have a get one free counter.
Yes - and exactly the type of player we need - when not injured or being played out of position. Hey ho that was then. Slater is a good player and signing but he isnt the hard kunt like fyvie - who was hard but it wasnt obvious. Flood still can do a job but needs a steady head next to him. Stanton today was p!sh anonymous and scared at times.
Yesterday Dunfermlines midfield were simply bigger, harder working and passed better than ours and just seemed to want to win much much more.
The lightweights in our line up just couldn't compete.
