    Sawyers is a problem.

Playing too deep, playing too slow, constantly trying the “Hollywood” pass or going nowhere in his own half.

There’s a reason nobody took him from Brentford before us and those reasons are now evident.

His mobility and pace is not great so unless he’s in the centre circle and beyond he becomes a luxury/liability.

Personally I’d ditch 4-2-3-1 at the moment and go 4-4-1-1 or 4-4-2 and let Livermore or Barry sit the deeper of the midfield two.

I've come to the same conclusion. I thought he was great at first but the combination of him and Livermore does not offer enough creativity going forwards. I think we need the experience and skill of Barry in the team.

Sawyers always had an outlet ball early season, mainly to Pereira or Diangana. At the moment when he looks up he only sees a yard full of carthorses so he takes the easy way out by playing it square. Maybe when the aforementioned return or the new kid plays, then maybe his early season form will return.

Hit the nail on the head , i was thinking the same. Think Barry could run the midfield. Livermoore puts in a shift , but Barry reading the the is on another level.

I agree and have been saying this since we have lost GD on the left. No out ball to him and Edwards is a pile of s hit. It's shocking that two seasons in a row it is loan player leaving/injured that has cost us. The back up has been cr ap and the only positive GD is still with us, but nobody is sure if he will be back soon.

I fear that we will very soon drop into the playoff positions and perhaps beyond.
We will only return to form with Gibbs, Pereira and Diangana back in the team and that's not gonna happen until late in the season.
By then we may have gone into meltdown and their presence may be too late.
Hopefully we can keep the ship afloat by beating Luton by bringing some experience into the side as per FA cup game.
I don't think Bilic knows what to do next, so Saturday will be very interesting.

He has a 95% pass completion record ya know.

Shame all the passes are square and backwards to Livermore.....who has a 10% pass completion record to know Fe(k3r in particular

Sawyers wasn't a problem earlier in the season though was he? there are a couple of things that aren't helping with Hegazi in the team we defend a lot deeper due to his lack of pace also without both Gibbs and Diangana on the left there is no out ball on that side of the pitch because everyone knows Townsend is not confident on the ball and very often only passes backwards.
