That must be the most we've spent since, since, since..........?
So someone thinks he's good.
Boro fans can't believe they have got 4.5m for a player who can't even get on their bench..a player who can't get even get on their bench is expected to start Saturday against the vile ones.
To quote one off a Boro message board "we've pulled their pants down there like"..and another "at least we haven't made Leeds any stronger"..and another " Master of the sideways/ backward pass".
Suppose time will tell.....

Viewing the Boro board I kinda get the feeling they think they have shafted us with this one.
Is this confirmed (the £4.5m)? I know I've wanted signings that bring players with English league experience to the club, but Forshaw isn't worth that (others are, and I'd prefer to see a striker brought in anyway).
I'm holding fire on this one because there is some sense in the style of play he apparently offers (can't claim to know, but have read up on him a bit) and how it could benefit us, rather than a team (like Boro) playing a different way.
Also, it has to be said that the decision to pay 2.5 to start with and possibly up to 4.5, does suggest there is a will to try and do something this year, rather than just stick at hoping for the best with what we've got.
If we were to get a striker in (Peterborough have just bought a new one, so Madison might be about to become available as a knock on) and spend 5+ on him, i think that and Forshaw/the Belgian fella, would show some modest intent, and answer some of the questions we have been putting about the level of investment and desire for a proper promotion push. A goalkeeper would seal it for me, but i think that might be wishful thinking. The three signings (or four) would tell me there is appetite there for THIS year.
Bridcutt plays for Forest so that is irrelevant. In terms of our squad it is he better than Klich because that is essentially who he is replacing as Klich was supposed to be first choice with the likes of O'Kane.
Time will tell on that front but as far as I'm concerned on paper he is a good signing especially in this window. British, experienced, good reputation, pretty cheap for a January signing and a player in an area I felt we were short.
Good job on the part of the board imo.
hear hear, we have people whinging because we havent spent money, when we do the usual neg heads come out.
lets give the guy a chance for effs sake.
We've got O'Kane out, saiz out, vierra injured, klich on his way out, shaugnessey not up to it, Phillips hit and miss........let's give him a chance, perhaps he may be half decent.
