Set Pieces - massive improvement required

Overall quality & effectiveness of our corners / free-kicks, pretty woeful. When was the last time, we scored with a thumping header or shot from a smart training ground routine? Mostly the ball in is too short, or well over hit -
and then down at other end defending wise, its appears to be panic stations.
Ten corners yesterday, and we looked a threat from about two.
Free - kick wise fairly similar, yes Hernandaz has scored a couple of crackers, but take him away, and the likes of Bamford / Alioski , Harrison & our so called dead ball expert Douglas, its either straight into the wall, or ten feet over the top.
Big / important part of any match, but for us, doesn't seem to feature highly on the training ground practice list.

thought the same at the game yesterday - particularly from corners. We seem to float high balls to the back of the area which were easily defended. Whatever happened to the whipped in corner that can be attacked?

We were poor last season even when we had a set piece specialist and just as woeful this season without one. I just don't understand all the corners to the back post when we do f all with them.

Corners to the back post can be very effective if you have a coupke of runners coming in from the far edge of the box, not Ayling or whoever standing on the far corner of the six yard box trying to get up from a standing start, but you also need to mix it up. Our tactics seem to be play the same corner for an entire game, then if it doesn't work practice a different one to play throughout the entire next game, missing a real trick with corners.

Even if we only do what Barca do and use it as a restart at least we don’t then give the ball away.
