Anybody who knows the League, and who isn’t a part-time, uninformed dilletante fanny, will know that Wick has been a credit to the League, and, by almost-unanimous judgement plays the most attractive football of all.

**** Locos and their inflated sense of entitlement. Chuff the chuff off. Chuffing chuffer pricks.

EDIT: From a Fitba North contributor: “I noticed on Facebook that an Inverurie player supposedly spat on a Wick player as they were leaving the park at full time and that Neil Gauld was sent off after the full time whistle.“

    This is gold.

Disappointed that our ex-striker Jonny Smith is the alleged spitter, though. I suppose once you sign for Sevcove then Chuffall, bad influences are almost bound to creep into one's behaviour.

Check the link to the Chuffers' online report too! Grievance and entitlement worthy of the Timmery. The Heelan League's Dundee United.

I liked this bit of piss taking

"The wick player probably walked into his spit. probably just a coming together"

Also nae doubt Watson was picking on the smallest Wick player at the final whistle. Hes a f@cking scumbag

As my ex highland league work colleague Molby (who was marked by him on numerous occasions throughout the years) said. "Theres a difference between a good tough opponent and a f@cking mink, Eric Watson is one of those and its not the good tough opponent"

Edit - I have to laugh as the computer folks at work dinna allow access to the Locos Website so I canna read the report. They probably dinna like GBH, assault and arseholes

Have this one on me (I have anti-bacterial gel on my desk).

    Breedon Highland Football League
    Saturday November 2nd 2019
Inverurie Loco Works 0 Wick Academy 1

Locos - A Reid T Reid Mitchell Burnett (Stott) Watson Souter Dingwall McLean Gauld (Cooper) Hunter (Smith) Michie. Unused subs - Gordon Watt Cook

Wick - McCarthy Gunn Farquhar Mackay Manson Campbell Halliday Henry Martens (Allan) MacNab R Macadie (Koziol). Unused subs - M Macadie Aitkenhead Hughes Clark

Wick Academy somehow managed to vacate Harlaw Park with all the pointage on Saturday, but it’ll be the awarding of four red cards to Locos & none to the visitors that fans will remember from this SHFL clash. A statistic out of kilter to the foul count which measured a peely wally twelve! Locos had Chris Angus injured & Ryan Broadhurst away with work. Ryan Stott moved to the bench so the players entering the fray were Neil McLean, Tam Reid & Jamie Michie. Locos were boosted pre-match with the signing of extended contacts to 2023 for no less than five of their first team group, Greg Mitchell, Andy Reid, Calum Dingwall, Ryan Stott & Jamie Michie. Academy of course were knocked out of the Scottish Cup earlier in the campaign, being unable to cope with Chris Angus in an explosive display of top finishing that afternoon. Inverurie, like most of northern Scotland, had been absolutely drookit in the lead up to the match but the park survived a provisional check at 7am then a formal check at 9am. Credit to Arthur & Ina Robertson for presenting such a resilient surface. Inverurie took to the field knowing any victory would guarantee a share of the league summit. Sam Burnett shot wide then Jack Henry had a low shot easily saved. Perhaps something of the mood of the afternoon was maybe set early on with a flourished yellow card for Andy Hunter for a low grade trip. Neil Gauld was pushed in the back but chose to stay on his feet, before the waving arm of Craig Gunn made contact with the ball. In the modern harsh interpretation of handball the player was lucky not to give away a spot kick. Next a moment of early November panto that was something of a calamity for the officials. Wick were caught offside in a rare foray towards the Locos goal. Andy Reid places the ball but before being allowed to take the free kick the standside linesman indicates that he wants the ball moved a couple of yards back. In trying to comply with this the Locos keeper picks the ball up & places it down in line with the stationary linesman. Enter a sprinting referee Duncan who promptly awards a free kick to Wick for handball! Utterly bizarre. Thankfully the subsequent free kick didn’t lead to a goal. Locos were on top and another flowing move ended with Dingwall shooting wide. A McLean effort was too high & another Dingwall attempt was wide. Andy Hunter unleashed a piledriver then a Dingwall free kick was inches wide. Total domination but no goals & not an overly tested McCarthy either, this was to haunt Locos later. Next what looked like a penalty for Inverurie as a Gauld header was deflected over by a raised Mackay arm, perhaps the angles not favourable for the officials to see.

A brave Mitchell header was cleared off the line with the young defender able to continue after treatment for a head knock. The first half ended with a Gauld shot being saved. Nine chances to one meant the 0-0 scoreline was a trifle concerning to the home faithful. Into the second period a Hunter header from a superb Gauld cross went wide. Wick finally woke up & crossed the halfway line again, this time MacNab firing low & forcing a top Reid leg block. Sam Burnett was next to shoot for goal but again Locos didn’t have the net rippling. Keeper McCarthy dropped a routine cross then flung himself to the deck, not tricking the referee into any action. Halliday took advantage of a rare moment of dithering from Inverurie to dash right through upon goal, being pursued by Souter. With the player over-running the ball he took advantage of any slight contact with the home defender. With players at full pelt its always probable that a penalty was going to be given. The referee felt that no attempt was made to play the ball so Souter was dismissed. A gift that was thoroughly undeserved for a dour Wick team who had set up for a point all afternoon. MANSON converted. Macadie then shot over as Wick were enthused by their unexpected advantage. Next yet more drama. Michie worked his way into the box but was then stopped by a two footed, straight legged lunge by Mackay. A tackle that was reckless, dangerous & most certainly a red card every day of the week & twice on Sunday, in the opinion of virtually everyone at the match. The type of tackle that was repeatedly shown to clubs in the summer as a straight red & no longer acceptable. A huge gamble by Mackay & one that looked odds on to yield a spot kick. Perhaps the referee had his view blocked & maybe the linesman too. Remarkably no penalty was given & Michie showed his displeasure with a trip on Mackay that was the merest fraction of the original challenge’s gravity. As players engaged in some freestyle bumping & barging the referee left the Harlaw crowd staggered by sending off Michie. A second red was issued for dissent, perhaps Michie, a player who has had serious injury in the past, was well aware of how things could have panned out in that episode. Martens, by a distance the best visiting player, shot wide as the clock ticked down. A succession of missed chances, strong penalty claims, two of which would normally be filed in the envelope labelled stonewall, had all suggested this might be one of those days when the side playing all the best football might have to accept no pointage. McLean shot over & Watson had a shot saved as the match ended with a 1-0 win for Wick. Neil Gauld was effectively red carded post match to complete the proceedings. Inverurie have no time to lick their wounds as it’s the six mile trip to Pitmedden on Wednesday for a testing away league match at North Lodge, before Clachnacuddin visit Inverurie on Saturday. A word for the Locos 19s who won a dramatic Scottish Cup-tie in Glasgow on Saturday, 4-2 on penalties after a 4-4 draw, and also for the young Locos heading to Rugby Park on Sunday to face Kilmarnock in the Scottish Youth Cup Round 2.
