Financially this is potentially a massive game for Queens. The Scottish Cup is where big money can be made

Losing this would be a disaster for the club , especially after what happened last November

Queens need a professional performance on Saturday to progress to the 4th round without any extra time like last time at Links Park or heavens above penalties.

If it’s a draw it goes to a replay

I forgot about that technicality. Queens should have enough to get thru in 90 minutes.

Struggled last time out at Montrose especially in the first half and need a much improved performance this time round imo against a Gable Endie side who have a very good home record.

Hard to believe that it's a decade ago this month, when Queens set out on the Road to Hampden to the Scottish Cup Final that began away to Peterhead on 24th November with a 5-0 win.

Can`t say I am that keen to be making a trip back to Montrose but I will be as I would be lost with not being at a match.
After the disappointment of last week and the tough match we had last time here it will be hard to get a result and if you look at our Scottish cup record since playing in the final it`s not very good.
We really need a good cup run this year and being positive it will start here with a win.

Having looked out how we have done since it is not great and here is the list of teams and round we got knocked out since that final.
    08/09 - Falkirk away - 4-2 - R4
    09/10 - Airdrie United away - 4-0 - R3
    10/11 - Brechin City home - 2-1 - R4
    11/12 - Aberdeen home 2-1 - R5 Replay
    12/13 - Kilmarnock away - 2-1 - R4
    13/14 - St Mirren away - 3-0 - R4 Replay
    14/15 - Falkirk home - 1-0 - Quarter Final
    15/16 - Dumbarton away - 2-1 - R4
    16/17 - Albion Rovers away - 2-1 - R3

Please Please Queens lets not add Montrose for this year to the list.

I am sure that Naysmith will have emphasised to the players that a repeat of that first half performance will be simply unacceptable. With their excellent home record and near miss against us last time Montrose will fancy it today but I am sure the lessons will have been learnt from that encounter and expect the Queens to progress with a bit more comfort. Mon the South!!!

Looking like a replay so far even with Lyle and Stirling starting.
