They will still be on decent wages for the championship though!
You would have thought that but apparently the Club had no such clauses in their contracts. Hence the desperate need to shift as many as possible. Pronto. TW for instance is still getting paid as previously.

Well that is not surprising from our side! Recruitment has been an absolute shambles! No wonder some players looked like they couldn't give a phluck about being relegated, if there was no penalty for themselves!

Precisely - it simply highlights exactly just how severe the financial impact of relegation is, something punters sometimes need reminded of.
    £4M in lost revenue apparently.

Yeah, there is no way this is normal practice for a club like ours. We'd never get anyone to sign if that was the case.

Exactly, the impact is massive. I doubt we've reduced the annual wage bill by that much either. 🤔

All of which underlines the importance of getting out of this league at the first time of asking , will have to hope , if need be , the boat is pushed out in January window to get us over the line

In the Courier they reported that Goodwin said Dundee Utd in the Championship division was hampering their ability to get targets in as those players were also wanted by clubs with a higher profile.

    Or words to that effect....

Overall recruitment this summer sensible and we needed a clear out

Time to give Holt another year on contract now as he’s done well with Gallagher
