Football fans were left bloodied as shocking violence marred Barnsley's clash with Leeds on Sunday.
Trouble broke out in Barnsley's Oakwell Stadium after Leeds took the lead through Arsenal loanee Eddie Nketiah in the 84th minute.
Celebrations spilled over in some parts of the stadium, resulting in clashes with local police officers.
Punches are alleged to have been thrown at Barnsley stewards, with Leeds preparing to make a statement on the trouble.
The trouble continued as the game was played to its conclusion, as Leeds grabbed a second goal from the penalty spot to secure a 2-0 win.

One fan is alleged to have ran around the perimeter of the pitch from the away end to threaten home fans, but was hauled away by officers.
Some fans were left bloodied by the violence.
South Yorkshire Police have been contacted by Mirror Online regarding the incident.
Asked about the crowd trouble, Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa said: “I feel pity that something like that happened, but I didn't see it.”

It is unclear what started the violence, but it is suggested that some Leeds fans were in the home end of the stadium.
On the pitch, it took 84 minutes for Leeds to break a spirited Barnsley outfit, would could have been out of sight after missing their own chances.
The opener was created by Kalvin Phillips, fresh from signing a new five year deal, who curled an in-swinging free kick to the back post that was impossible to defend.

Nketiah popped up at the back post to guide it home. The 20-year-old spoke this week on England U21 duty about impressing Unai Emery the Gunners' boss with his form in Yorkshire.
The report back the the Emirates will also note Nketiah's pace won the late penalty, felled by Aapo Halme. Mateusz Klich rolled it home.

Leeds fans in the east stand today goading reds when they scored , not the greatest idea in the world and took a hiding apparently .
Not condoning violence but you do that then its highly likely there will be consequences .
Every time we play this lot it always kicks off , I'm not suggesting we are angels by any means but it's hardly a coincidence is it ?

Aye they did same a couple year back fo that setdy neet game. Trouble in ponty end after wood scored opening goal and some bother in east stand too that night. These incidents simply make police bring kick off times forward for local derbies and spoil it for the rest.

I haven't a problem with away fans sitting in the home areas if they are respectful and behave .
The lads at work will be taking me with them in the The John Smiths Stadium home area when we play Huddersfield in October .
When Woodrow puts us in front on 83 minutes I'm unlikely to jump up and celebrate our winner whilst telling the town fans surrounding me " your going down with the Stoke " .
No I'll sit on my hands and keep my emotions to myself .
I'd suggest if you enter the home areas and goad the home fans trying to gain some badge of honour your motives were to create trouble and if you took a hiding you got what you came for .

True, theres a certain code of ethics to adhere to when sat with opposing fans. Done it a few times missen over the years but never showed emotion.
