    Childhood clubs…

When I was in my teens the club that supported was local side Arnold FC,situated at the bottom of my road I could be home 5 mins after the final whistle, great memories of a time more simple time before they moved to the outskirts of town, did anyone else support a smaller club than Carlisle, when was your first game and who against?

Used to go to Workington on a Friday evening then Carlisle the next day. Unfortunately getting back from Workington involved getting on the miners’ bus and some conductors wouldn’t let us on which meant a 10 mile walk home. Packed it in after a while.

Funnily enough I knew somebody at school who supported Wolves soley because he liked their shirts, you would think that once he got a job and stuff he would have grown out of it but the opposite was true as he became a die hard supporter going to most games in a season

I had a soft sput Cowdenbeath for as long as I can remember because when it showed the Scottish league tables back in the 70's they was nearly always at or near the very bottom of the bottom league,I've just had a look at where they are now and they've done a Rockdale and dropped into non league
