    Then versus now

Ok, so...AP posed an interesting question which I've expanded on (I used to like the threads that made you think as opposed to the ones that invited, erm...'debate' (not that that's a bad thing per se, just not on almost every thread) so I've expanded on his question.

I'll work it out and post the answer once folk have had the chance to think about it. So:

What percentage of each starting 11 on the opening day of the Premier League was made up of foreign players (i.e. not 'home' nations) compared with the starting 11 from the first set of fixtures this season?

I'm going for 34% then and 68% now. Haven't necessarily given that a lot of thought but i'm actually looking forward to finding out the answer (if not working it out!)

    Very interesting question.

I remember the likes of Bergkamp and Ginola being the vanguard for the influx of foreign players so I think it'll be surprisingly low.

    Mmmmm. ..

    Then: 20%
    Now 70 %

I reckon it might be a bit higher in the "then" days as there were quite a good few foreign players in the old first division so I'll go for 40% then and 70% now.
