    Rumour on incoming transfer...

Rumour only so please don't shoot the messenger if it turns out to be utter drivel!

Joey O'Brien currently a free agent but formerly of Bolton and West Ham hence connection to KN

He's a defender. We need goal scorers

    Pros:
    - Good experience, including ROI caps
    - Mates with Kevin Nolan
    - Highly rated for his work ethic. See West Ham fans thoughts here: http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/06/08...-react-to-joe/

    Cons:
    - Looks like he's a FB, not a CB
    - Poor injury record

Strange how few games he's played in his career. Unless he can fill in at CB, I don't really see the point in getting in more fullback cover.

A striker and CB are absolutely priorities. We need pace and more goals up front, and if Brisley gets injured we're screwed.

It seems he is actually a midfielder who was converted to a full back. The lack of games seems largely down to injures, and the fact he has always been at Prem clubs, apart from a loan early in his career. I don't really buy into this rumour anyway, the Palace one got the wrong player.

Since making his return from injury, he played most of the 2007–08 season in his natural midfield role as opposed to the right back position which he had been in two years previous.

.....plus AH recently stated that we do not need any more "squad fillers" ie they were to be quality signings that can walk straight into the first team......that was obviously before we took the lad from Crystal Palace that has only ever had 7 starts in his career, on loan to Accy....mmmmm

They were like us when he joined, relegation candidates, but they finished in 13th, 9 points above us. Obviously not all down to him, but KN gives him some some credit for making a difference. I don't think he will be a fringe player, and at 20, is obviously a better prospect than Walker, who was a filler signing.

Agree with Bo'. Obviously KN sees something in the lad and is taking a judgement on him coming good, hence the 18 mth contract. He produces and we have him for next season, he doesn't and we aren't lumbered. Not breaking into the Palace (or Reading) first team is no reflection on his ability at our level and 11 starts for Accy from January isn't that bad a return.
