hmmm id like to ask the chairman ,could you explain in detail about the land he bought and how much and how much it was sold for and who made what out of it ,id like to think queens would be making a tidy profit out of that land ,if not who has and how much .im not a shareholder so cant ask him myself lol before someone comes on ans says go to agm and ask him as iv seen mentioned in other posts when someone asks a question regarding the board .
There has been a total lack of interest on FM in tonight's meeting and I would be very surprised in anyone
asked questions that would bother the board in any way. One question I hope someone asks is '' what happened to
the World of Sport plan that a guest at last year's meeting went on and on about ? ''
The land in question was bought and sold by Mr Hewitson for a large profit. Over £200,000 profit if stories are true. Any profit from the sale of the land was to be handed back to Queens. It’s all in the accounts from a few years back , hopefully someone still has a copy
All the good work at the club just now seems to be coming from the fans, what are the board themselves doing to take this club forward, specifically in regards the rapidly falling apart stadium.
We have a past history for specialist work needing done and never started:
Wullie Harkness the electrical contractor and yet Queens with the worst tannoy system in Scotland.
Billy Hewitson building contractor and Queens with a stadium that is literally falling to pieces.
Nothing much changes at Palmerston over he years.
Have to agree about the state of the ground. At one time I would have said that palmerston was one of the best grounds in the lower leagues, but not now and would go as far as saying it's in the bottom 3 grounds of the championship. Only Morton which is on a par, Dumbarton and Brechin could be classed as as bad. The rest all have relatively new stadiums which are geared up for the premIer league.
What we do have though is atmosphere when it's full and it's like a throwback to the old days when full. The problem is its never full these days!!!
