Not the pedigree of the manager I would look for but, if it is Igor, then he will get my backing.

We are in a right mess and hiring Stimac would put the sh it on the cake and ruin it

We are essentially going down Fawaz road, hiring past legends (ala stuart pearce), Morris hasn't a f u c king clue what he's doing and the sooner he goes the better

Warburton or Wassall, or at a push Dean Smith from Brentford. we either need someone who will use youth and be happy to work within a strict budget (ie warburton) or someone who already know how the club currently operates in Wassall,, Dean Smith would need to bring in the system they have at Brentford which I'm not against, it would mean a slow progression to see the improvements, which as we know Morris has f u ck all patience and would sack him the moment we look poor.

To think this club gave Clough 5 years to sort it out bottom to top, what an absolute waste of time it all was, just so another greedy impatient sh it head could come in and just put a wrecking ball through it all.

Please sell up Morris and leave it to someone who knows what the f u ck they're doing.

Its the work Clough did that has essentially allowed us to be mainly top 6 since he left, if we'd have a more astute owner in place we'd have bloody walked this league, esp with how Clough left it, we were debt free, young good team, academy was booming, we were using the load/transfer market how it should be used, used astutely and only brought in players who fit a system. the sad thing is we never truly appreciated what we had ( myself included) at the time, Morris has undone absolutely everything, he's spu nked money up the wall and now we're in a financial mess, who's going to suffer? not the pr ick whos done it, he'll sell up and leave it to the next person,, the planet is full of to ssers like Morris, they get rich of other peoples ideas and good work, then ruin things they touch trying to copy cat, but they have zero money sense and are thick as pig s h it.

Well lets be honest you haven't got a idea either if Stimac would be good or bad
Pep Guardiola would have a job on to change Derby's fortunes at the moment

but he has a love for the club and maybe would attract some overseas talent

The names you suggest have done nothing much to date

I bet Igor would come on a year deal ,so I'm all for it

Stimac is an interesting call. Very much a "**** or bust" type of an appointment. The odds are stacked against him succeeding given that he has been out of touch with the UK football scene and in particular the championship for years: hence recruitment from the lower leagues would be guesswork at best BUT he might well be able to tap into the Croatian talent pool and find some cheap gems.

If he can achieve that, we at least know that the Croatian game is in reasonably good order - they are more successful than England have been at least! That may not say much, but it could support a conjecture that their lower top flight teams are better than our 3rd division etc.

It would be a huge gamble, and probably another case of living on past glories, but consider our options. Find a bog standard mid tier English manager and go fishing with a few quid in Tier 3 or 4 of the English leagues OR take a punt on someone who may be able to fish in overseas leagues where the pound goes further. Overseas recruitment didn't do Wolves a lot of harm last season did it.

It's not really a "personality thing" to me, but rather an interesting (maybe exciting) alternative to a few years in the doldrums, seeing out old contracts on old players with no motivation. Bring in some unknowns under a manager that might be able to find these gems, blend them with our home grown kids. It may all go wrong, but whats the worse that could happen? Relegation? Worse yet, finishing below Forest? If we opt for Clough Mk 2 and 5 years of tearing apart and rebuilding, we may well suffer that fate anyway.

I'd love to see us in the Premiership before I die, so do we twist or do we stick?

MON will forever be a manager I will respect for his fun and great times at VP. it has been more understandable about what Lerner was doing - asset stripping the club and holding back on transfer fees that MON walked out. But it's still a sore point as it seemed to be the start of the end for Villa.

He loves counter attacking football and wingers but his failing is his over use of the same 15 players throughout the season leading to a drop in results around March (I still don't think he has won a game in March).

Would be interesting to see him in the championship tho

A drop off in results in March is a hell of a lot better than dropping off in January and February and march, like a certain club I shall not name does.

Or indeed a drop off in results from September onwards as Forest specialise in

Seconded, furthermore managers come and go, certain posters here slate Mel Morris for being too trigger happy and for showing no loyalty to the manager yet look at the loyalty our manager just showed Mel or the fans.....zilch! Do I blame rowett for going.....no way, you do what you thinks best for your career progression, Mel would do the same if he felt it's for the good of the club and could sack rowett come Christmas if results weren't there......what loyalty! Do you honestly think rowett was going to do a wenger with Derby if Mel cut him some slack, only the naive would.

OK I thought he might see out his contract with us but it wasn't to be, managers come and go, so we go out and get another....simple!

Anyway, here's an interesting theory. Mel wanted to sack GR for under perfoming and failing to attain promotion, but that would take a lot of money as he has just being given an enhanced contract. So, noting that Stoke had just axed their manager, and they had been interested in GR before, he lets it be known that we have no money and will have to sell our best players. The future is grim, prospects are bleak. He then drops a hint in the press that Stoke may be interested, thus attracting that interest from Stoke and also GR.

Result: GR quits, we bank a couple of million compensation instead of having to pay a few million to get rid, and the new manager will mysteriously get funds now without having to sell our best players. Pretty shrewd move eh, and here we are slagging Mel off? If only it were so!
