Exactly this. Its nothing like four up front. So are we playing 6-0-4?? No we're not, as we still have three in midfield.
4-4-2 is a strict four in midfield with two out & out strikers. 4-2-3-1 is one up front with the three behind doing the interchanging. The only one constant is Shankland being up front in his own.
Nothing to dress up, just stating the facts and disproving what you said about being scared to lose as it simply doesn't add up, where are all these draws? Neilson is delivering results and wins and long may it continue, as I said post play offs right after losing pens about this season we were on an upwards trend post January and just needed to add to the base we had built, said it again in pre season that we should be confident about this season and hitting the ground running, that's what we've done, we have the right man in charge to lead us forward not only out of this division but into the top flight
Talk of him being under pressure or on shoogly pegs is not only silly talk it's tiresome during such a positive period
That's not to say there arent things that we won't agree with him on, I such think we should have started brown at Ayr and agree prefer Appere closer to Shankland on Saturday , at same time the subs he made worked, we kept probing and playing and we won.. Just wish any criticism was balanced with credit and came without talk of shoogly peg or pressure, needless.. if anyone really believes a managerial change would help the club this season then I'd advise to seek help, we have stability, we are building, the vibe is good, the crowds are good, the team spirit in players and staff is good (they wouldn't want a managerial change either), and we can see players improving under RN along with results over his tenure.
You might as well talk to the wall mate. Now we're getting rubbish about 'shoogly pegs' etc. Where on here did anyone say the manager is under threat, total garbage. Fans have genuine fears about the poor standard of football being witnessed and worried about some of the managers decision making and we're not allowed to voice them on here apparently. I thought it was a forum ffs...
Whilst I understand concerns over the performance there’s been an over reaction. If Shankland’s chance in first half goes in off inside of post instead of back out then we probably go onto win by 2 or 3.
Arbroath a very stuffy team and do their jobs well. We have plenty previous for throwing in our worst home performance against low ranked sides. Brechin very nearly got a draw, Dumbarton got back to back draws at Tannadice over 2 seasons and who could forget the day Gretna came and left with all 3 points.
I was as displeased as anyone with that first 88 minutes but the end result showed we’ve turned a corner.
