A think thaz cracked it Perks.

Ivvery gap in the bricks represents a two year cycle when profits will be taken. Stock up Summer 2019, Sell 2021, Restock 2021 etc--

Very sad to see the teams shirt sponsored by such a company as this .

Only folk brought up a certain way and I dare say a certain age would find it detestable I guess .

I've read today that it's better than a betting company apparently , is it ? , gambling is a personal choice for the majority of us , having an affordable house is something everyone needs , youngsters more than most .

This area is one of the most deprived areas in the country and companies like Investment Room cash in on that .

    Morally bankrupt , a new low .

Many on this board ( Maybe) will have a Pension scheme. They will invest in their pension, and think that the money fairies make it double up. Treble up... and so on. Happy to take said Pension from institutions that invest money in numerous schemes the investor in a Pension withdraws their pension often oblivious to the way in which said Pension has grown.
No different to what these people do.
Often the “Young People” can’t afford, nor save for deposits, often they are in circumstances where they can’t afford a mortgage, maybe paying for two families and can’t get the backing, rental is sometimes the only option.
Mortgages are hard to come by, a grand deposit and a higher than mortgage rent, for decent accommodation is sometimes what people need.
NOT THE BEST SITUATION, I AGREE, we would all like to see affordable housing, ....but sometimes it’s better than unscrupulous, unregulated Landlords that we had in the past.

I don’t agree that these companies sell “Nightmares”. They sometimes are the only way that certain families can get a decent roof over their head.

Until they became the main Sponsor, I haven’t heard anyone having issues.

And before anyone asks.....Yes, I Have been in a situation where I have rented, can’t get a Mortgage, paid for two families, and been desperate for a decent place to have my kids stay at weekends. Sometimes you just have to pay “dead money”

I don’t know wether the business is a reputable, law abiding one or not, but I do know that when you’ve walked in MY shoes, sometimes paying a bit more than you would for a Mortgage is irrelevant, and you don’t care if someone’s making money. It’s about the service they provide for you. I don’t see it as worse than a betting company. In fact the only thing worse than that would be a French or Polish Energy Company.

Well we already shut all our pits down and bought our coal in from Poland. That's nothing new.

Many a good point in there Jules.

It's just that i happen to have some young relations in the Barnsley area who had gone through the long process of saving, finding a house, putting an offer in, only to find The Investment Room had snapped it up with quick finance from banks. Not much later a sign went up saying "To Let" at a rent far higher than the mortgage payment they had planned. Sumdi is making a big and continuing profit for doing little more than borrowing money at low rates from banks and making arrangements with landlords to let these properties at significant rents.

Sticks in my craw but allev to gerrovva it. It's the modern way apparently. A just dunt like to see it promoted on "my" club's shirt.

That's exactly how they operate SB and why I find it very disappointing to see the club connected to this particular company .

The fancy website doesn't tell you how they really operate and the affects to the local housing market .

Club have scored an own goal here for the sake of a few extra quid, I think shirt sales will be quite poor this season for having these as sponsors and the fact that the shirt is absoltely awful!!
Thinking about it though this is another one of those companies that will get away with their poor profit making exercise for a few years, before the government brings in a law that curtails their activities by which time they will have fleeced millions.
Money lenders at extortionate interest rates in a different guise.

The "Investment Room" will be regarded as "smart" business people by some. Am old school and say it azzit is--Rip off Merchants-- and am ashamed they are on our shirts. All abart opinions though.
