In a week which saw the departure of three top players, (Kermorgant to Bournemouth, Stephens to Brighton and Alnwick to Leyton Orient) Charlton succumb to another defeat with the new guard and new signings but not until the last 5 minutes or so of the game.

Well at least Kermorgant didn't score at Bournemouth today which eases the pain, but Charlton find themselves rooted in the relegation places as Yeovil play tomorrow and are putting a good run of form together of late.

It all started so well with a rare Marvin Sordell goal on 3 minutes and the Addicks finished the first half on top with some clear cut chances to score more. However scoring has been the problem these days and holding onto leads.

When the Addicks were being worn down in the second half and holding on it was a matter of when Wigan would break through and it happened on the 89th minute from Marc-Antoine Fortune and the cruelest blow on 90 minutes when Jordi Gomez scored from a free kick.
